Foundation Portfolio planning and drafting

Autumn break was meant for planning and drafting my first ideas for the Foundation Portfolio; I wanted to try and think of ways of interpreting semiotics to create a deeper meaning for my Foundation Portfolio.

I discovered that I lean towards darker and rather emotional ideas than light or mysterious ones - maybe it's because these genres are more familiar to me or maybe it's because I want to explore something more distinct. However, I still didn't want to include a humorous side to the film, so I decided for my first idea to be a comedy drama.

Having formed my first idea for my film opening, I started creating a collage with all of my inspiration pictures that I found through an app called Pinterest. I searched and searched to find the perfect pictures that would show this contrast between stability and loss of one's self, as well as a feeling of being at your breaking point. Nevertheless, you might see that the last picture includes a woman smoking, and that is something that I do not feel comfortable including. I would much rather find alternative ways to make this idea of my film opening not as heavy as it is depicted in some of those particular pictures.
I am also not completely satisfied with this idea - hence it being my first one. I would like to explore more films and their genres to understand what I want to further do with my film opening. I want to be able to create and think of more ideas in order to find the perfect one that I would be satisfied with. Therefore,  I will keep updating more and more as I indulge myself into this planning period.
