Foundation Portfolio production company and film credits
Once I was happy with how all of the scenes looked together on "iMovie" I started creating my own production company logo, as well as film title. For the logos, I used a graphic design platform called 'Canva'; this enabled me to create moving as well as regular logos in a fast and easy way.
I created an animated production company logo, while for the film credits - such as the leading cast and the film name - I created non-moving images.
Ultimately this allows for the audience to be engaged from the start of the film, as they are seeing a moving image of my production company. Yet concentrate and easily read the cast of my film, as well as the film's title.
Moreover, by using such a platform, I tried different fonts to fit the theme of my film. Overall, 'baskerville' and 'calmius sans' were the two fonts that I had to debate over for listing the cast of my film. After asking my teacher for feedback and her own opinion, we decided to use the 'calmius sans' font.
Overall, all of these details have been carefully thought of in order to be seamless and subtle, yet still fit the atmosphere and narrative of the whole film and its production company. This is due to the fact that my production company, 'New Culture', produces modern drama films that - in the long-run - create a tradition of atmospheric and raw feature films.
The name of the production company echoes its purpose of producing and executing modern and culturally striking entertainment. One of the companies that helped me create 'New Culture' was the 'A24' independent entertainment company. Referencing it through my own idea, the company produced films such as 'Lady Bird', 'Moonlight', 'Mid90s', 'Waves' and many more.
Additionally, by taking inspiration from such an independent company, I decided for 'New Culture' to both produce and distribute feature films, while still using streaming and rental platforms - like Amazon Prime - for extra promotion help. This not only allows for a full level of ownership, but also for all of the profits to be secured by the company.
